A Long Standing Staple of Long Island Elegance Few people early on know what they want from life. Nicholas Leone was one of those people. Starting as a dishwasher in the late 50’s at Burberons of Flushing NY, Nick took it upon himself to learn every facet of the hospitality business. This did not escape the keen eye of the owner, George Burberon and under his tutelage, he excelled at a pace that eventually took him to both the Executive Chef and Sales Managers’ positions.
In the early 70’s, Nick purchased the Royal Manor in Rego Park, a three-room caterer and through dedication and hard work eventually led him to acquire the Jericho Manor in 1978. At that time, the Jericho Manor, also a three-room operation was the beginning of the tradition of fine food and service that led to a 1984 extension and subsequent name change to what is now known as the Jericho Terrace.
While working tirelessly and raising a family, Nick still had time to become not only a culinary pillar in the community but a philanthropic one as well. His generous donations to a number of causes and charities, most notably the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation has impacted numerous families in the New York area.
Today his son, Chris Leone, continues the tradition of fine food, unparalleled service, and untiring charitable efforts. Working part-time through college, full time by the age of 18 and subsequently taking the reins in November of 2002, Chris has blended old-school hospitality excellence with the latest technology to create the first choice for all your needs.
